Farewell from Helen
- Helen Reeves
As I sit in the peace and silence of our Parish Quiet Day, bathed in Autumn sunshine, I reflect on the past three years at St George’s. Three years, in fact almost to the day that I was ordained and began my new ministry as Assistant Curate for the parish of Gravesend.
And what a blessing those three years have been: a more varied and challenging time I could not have dreamed of and a more generous and friendly welcome from the congregation and people of Gravesend I could not have hoped for.
Thank you for your kindness in allowing me the freedom to learn and grow without judgement or unjust criticism.
Thank you for the laughter and tears shared in a community who love and hold each other in, for and because of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your support and prayers through this amazing time of formation which has led me to this bitter-sweet moment of saying goodbye.
Curacy has ended and I move on to the parishes of Ash and Ridley, taking with me the solid foundation that we, strengthened and guided by God, have built together. I will miss you.
You are a Christ-centred people, rooted in His love, knowing, growing, living and sharing that love and light with the people of Gravesend. I pray that God continues to bless you in all that you do in His name and in the exciting time of change ahead.
Love and prayers,
Helen
Helen will be installed as the Rector of Ash-cum-Ridley on 13th November 2018, 8pm at Ash church. All are very welcome to attend.
