Happy New Year
- Helen Reeves
A New Year begins. Perhaps it offers new opportunities and possibilities. It certainly offers the chance to live differently, even within realities that don’t change.
Step Out …
As you reflect on your Advent and Christmas journey with God, the time spent in prayer, listening, watching, waiting and ultimately welcoming Jesus, it might be that you realise you need to change something you do or an attitude you have. You may have seen that you need to put something right, go and talk to someone or explore something further.
You might simply realise that this year needs to be lived differently, at a different pace, with space for reflection and prayer and with a desire to see God in your life.
You might also have seen that the heart of that change is Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem, whose words and life speak to us today. By his Holy Spirit, he lives in us today and walks alongside us. #GodWithUs always.
When Jesus called the first disciples to follow him, he didn’t give them a manual or a pep talk, he simply said, ‘Come and see.’ Step out, walk with Jesus and see what happens.
What’s your first step today to live differently?
You are always very welcome to ‘come and see’ and join with others at St George’s Church, who are also stepping out and walking with Jesus in so many different ways.
Have a blessed 2018.
