I am Lynda and I came to St George’s Church in 1997 as a Pastoral Assistant from Fawkham and Hartley. For many years I felt God calling me to be a Reader but I could never find time to do the training. After retiring from work at Riverview Junior School in 2008, I didn’t have any excuses and I was licensed in 2011. It is a privilege and a joy to be part of the ministry team.
In 2015 I became a Learning Adviser for the Licensed Lay Ministry training at St Benedict’s, West Malling Abbey. It is really exciting to mentor students on their faith and theology journey.
I have a passion for Scouting, having started as a Cub Scout Leader in 1971. After several district appointments, I retired as a Beaver leader in 2007. I am now a member of the Scout Active Support in Gravesham and Brownsea Island. I spend time every summer as a camp warden on Brownsea and help out in Gravesham when needed.
I have two wonderful sons and five adorable grandchildren, who are thankfully as mad as I am and always keen to join in with Granny’s crazy adventures. I love driving, reading, knitting and keeping in touch with friends.
