I am Jim Fletcher and as Rector of the Parish it is a privilege to be able to help us learn together and grow in faith, and to understand what it means to be a Christian in this day and age. I have a passion for the Church being at the heart of community, and at St George’s we are fortunate to have our building central to people here. I equally have a passion for outreach and taking God’s Word and message out to those that surround us each day.
My background is in Youth and Children’s work and working with schools is a key interest of mine. I am also the Gravesend Deanery Vocations Advisor and enjoy helping others explore where they feel God may be leading them.
Following the Biblical model of the Sabbath, times of rest and refreshment are important to me. Particular interests involve reading, cinema, sport, music and countryside walks. Please don’t hold it against me that I follow Sussex County Cricket Club and Liverpool FC! I enjoy exercise and playing sport when I can, and actually, some of the best spiritual conversations I have had are when winding down after a game (often over a pint – another interest!). We can find God in all that we do and share together.
